My story, their words

"Desperate for a way to fill the time, I stumbled around Maize Pages, eventually finding contact information for the sports editors of The Michigan Daily."

Getting rejected from fraternities left me in an unusual position my freshman year. All my friends had rushed, but I needed to find a place that would make this campus smaller, too.

The Daily became that place.

I chose to interview Liz because she is another freshman that found a home at 420 Maynard.

And her situation coincidentally paralleled mine. Maybe she summarized my own experience best: She needed a place to be on Friday nights, so she wasn't the awkward person getting ready for bed while the rest of her friends put on lipstick to go out that night.
